A taste of Brazil is something that all diners have at least once in a while, and luckily Birmingham is overwhelming when it comes to restaurants to appease this taste. Diners can expect to get a unique experience at all the Brazilian restaurants around the Second City, but which destinations should be at the top of all lists?
Rodizio Rico
It would be hard to start anywhere else when it comes to Brazilian dining options in Birmingham than Rodizio Rico. The excellent dining experience can be found on the seventh floor at The Cube, and has quickly become a must-visit for all visitors to the city. Diners will immediately get a unique Brazilian atmosphere the moment they work through the door, and there is no denying that you will be leaving without a belly that is full. It is a perfect location for meat lovers, as the freshly cooked chicken, lamb and beef is served right in front of your eyes by the friendly staff.
Visitors can have unlimited meat throughout their visit, which means that you will need something to wash it down with. The cocktail list is perfectly Brazilian, with the Caipirinha being the perfect drink. Rodizio Rico is open between 12 and half 9 Monday to Thursday, 12 to 10 on Friday and Saturday, then 12 until 9 on Sunday.

BrasilPortu
Visitors looking for a restaurant that doesn’t only specialise in Brazilian food, but also other Latin meals will be delighted with the service available at BrasilPortu. Customers thinking about visiting the restaurant must book in advance to avoid disappointment. There are a number of excellent events throughout the week that are hosted here, including live music and stand up comedians.
The restaurant is located on the Bearwood Road in Smethwick, and opens daily at 10 am and closes late evening. Unlike other restaurants in the Second City, it offers a casual dining experience, but that doesn’t take away the quality of the food that you can expect. The customer service at BrasilPortu is second to none. The stake is often the preferred selection, and it is simply divine. If you’re in a rush or work around the city, takeaway is also available, which means that you can enjoy a phenomenal meal on your lunch break. However, if you’re working, you may need to revisit at a later time and try the Brazilian strawberry cocktail.

Las Iguanas
While it may not be your traditional Brazilian restaurant, there is still the Latin feel that you can’t expect to get elsewhere at Las Iguanas. There are numerous locations around the city to enjoy the Latin flavour at this restaurant, with locations on Temple Street and Brindley Place. The happy hour is not to be missed, as it is two for one cocktails all day, every day at Las Iguanas.
Those looking for a Brazilian starter can’t go wrong with the Loaded Nachos, while the question of what to have for a main could be complex. There are fajitas, burritos and burgers available, but those looking for a taste of Brazil shouldn’t look past the Xinxim. This recipe comes from the North of Brazil, and includes both chicken and crayfish in a lime and peanut sauce. It is a delightful main to be enjoyed outside in the Birmingham sunshine, and you will definitely get the feeling that you’re in one of the famous Brazilian cities.
