Yesterday evening we headed over to Broad Street, Birmingham’s ‘Golden Mile’, for the VIP launch party of Snobs’ newest venue!
After closing its doors at the much-loved Smallbrook Queensway on the 2nd March, we didn’t have long to wait before the new venue opened.
With all 45 members of staff moving over to the Broad Street location, and lots of the iconic Snobs’ décor coming along for the ride, the team have accomplished a lot in the few days they have had to prepare the space.
There are three floors of music, promising a range of alternative tunes, and epic décor across the venue, with a disco ball DJ booth, infinity mirrors, wall murals and the iconic snobs faces.
The quick turnaround did leave a few boxes unchecked. When we arrived, construction was still underway on the ground floor. Some of the walls were wet or unpainted, some of the décor was waiting to be put up, and unfortunately most of the toilets were out of order, leading to long queues and some disruption. However, some turbulence is to be expected in the early days, and over the coming weeks, the work will soon be finished.
Snobs is shaping up to be a fan favourite in the area. We had a fantastic evening at the launch party, listening to some iconic tunes, with everything from Fall Out Boy to Natasha Bedingfield! Snobs is best-loved for its alternative setlists, and there certainly isn’t another venue on the ‘Golden Mile’ to rival it in that department.
With a variety of free-flowing drinks, and lots of keen patrons ready to get back onto the dancefloor, the opening night certainly ought to reassure the Snobs team that their fans are very keen to support them in this new venture. We can’t wait to go back in a few weeks’ time, to see how the space has come together!
