Located in Symphony Hall B:EATS, the cafe created by music charity B:Music has now launched their new spring dining menu. The menu features classic Indian dishes prepared with a special Brummie twist. With dishes such as the Brummie Butter Chicken Thali the menu captures the Indian culture perfectly while still incorporating a unique local spin.
With Chicken Tikka Masala being Britain’s national dish and Birmingham specifically being the birthplace of the Balti the new Indian inspired menu from B:EATS is the perfect addition to this local cafe. The Red Lentil and Vegetable Dhal and The Brummie Butter Chicken are two of the new additions to the menu this spring.
Head chef Lee Hollington wanted to ensure all the new menu items were created as authentically as possible. To ensure this Lee created the menu with support from Amal and Nikhil two new team members from South India and had assistance from kitchen porter Baljeet their longest standing team member. With their help the team managed to create some great recipes and some real authentic dishes for us Brummies to try out. Lee mentioned creating this menu gave him the opportunity to learn some fantastic new culinary techniques and meant he could experiment with new ingredients he has not tried out before.
Some of the items that now feature on the breakfast menu include their Brummie Breakfast, Shakshuka, and Smoked Salmon & Eggs on Toast. For veggies there is a vast selection of options including their Veggie Brekkie, the “Fake-Un Cake, and their Avocado & Poached Egg on Toast. From lunch onwards the menu will feature dishes such as their B:Eats Burger, Mediterranean Vegetable Gnocchi, the B:Eats Big Boy-Ritto, and of course the two new Indian inspired dishes the Dhal and the Thali.
The daytime cafe and eatery is open Monday to Saturday from 11 am to 4 pm and is the ideal spot to take in some of the Birmingham views and enjoy some of the delightful new menu items.
