Being a cultural hub which speaks more than 100 languages, Birmingham has a rich diversity of Vegan restaurants ranging from traditional fine dining to fusion spices and street food. Though it wasn’t easy to rate them on their distinctiveness, we did our best to bring the best vegan restaurants in the city. Here, you will see our best picks from a romantic dinner date to a vegan pizza to enjoy.

Mowgli

The place to be for a street food lover. This Indian restaurant specialises in all things street and it’s all homemade! Founded in 2014, the simple dishes of a Mowgli menu are a million miles away from the curry stereotype. These dishes convey the truth that real Indian food is extremely healthy, often vegan and always packed with fresh flavour. It also offers a very diverse meal from a Yoghurt Chat Bomb, Picnic Potato Curry, and Bhel Puuri.

The Stables, John Bright Street

The perfect vegan night out does exist! And it redefines perfection once you try the gluten free pizza at ‘The stables’. Founded in 2007, the Stables speak a powerful story of hard work and perseverance for any food lover. Based in John Bright Street, the restaurant is a show stopper with its huge variety of cider and sourdough-base pizza with homemade tomato sauce and delicious locally-sourced toppings. Though the restaurant is not completely vegan, it still offers a Vegan based menu and the ‘Hakuna Burrata’ – a hand crafted pizza with plant-based burrata, tomatoes, aubergine, rocket, pinenuts, oregano, basil, garlic oil, and sea salt is a must have.

Located inside The Rainbow pub, BA-HA has a wide range of selections of plant-based foods including Sunday roasts, small plates and bottomless brunches. As well as this, there are lots of gins that you can choose from and a selection of brilliant cocktails, beers and wines too. You are able to walk in, but it is best to book a table in advance to ensure that you aren’t left disappointed if you can’t get in.
