Three Peaky Blinders Theories For Season Six

0

The BBC recently revealed that Peaky Blinders would be returning for season six in 2020, but with so much still up in the air, fans have been questioning what could be in store for the sixth series. Fans were sent into meltdown on social media following the conclusion to season five, with many wondering if this was the end of Tommy.

It is unlikely that Tommy will be dead, and instead, he will be coming back with a vengeance. Steven Knight recently revealed that the sixth season would follow Tommy as he tries to find out who it was that sold the Peaky Blinders out to Oswald Mosley. Viewers have been on Twitter to talk about their theories regarding the next season, but can the Brummie boys get themselves back on top?

Theory One: Aunt Polly’s Prophecy

Aunt Polly is one of the Peaky Blinders’ fans favourite characters, but could her damning prediction be about to come true in season six. The prophecy centres around the opening scene from the final episode. Michael comes out with a new plan to Tommy about selling narcotics in the United States. He is immediately knocked back, and that’s when Polly tells Tommy that she can see one of their ends.

That links back to a deleted scene which viewers could see online, where Polly is telling Gina’s fortune. She confesses that she is a strong woman with a good head for business, but she isn’t set for life as a widow. Is this the clearest indicator that Polly’s prophecy sees Michael killed by Tommy?

Theory Two: Is Gina Really Pregnant?

In the same deleted scene, Polly also admits that Gina will be a great mother, and even went a step further by admitting the gender of the baby. However, many fans believe that Gina isn’t really pregnant, and Michael only told Polly that she was to soften her up when the couple try and take over the gang.

It could be a double bluff by Polly as she is too wise to be tricked by the new American on the scene. But fans are convinced that she isn’t really pregnant as she refused to go to the doctor for a check-up with Ada earlier in the season. Could this all be part of Gina and Michael’s plan?

Theory Three: Unexpected Mole In The Gang

One of the theory’s that carries a lot of weight with fans is the identity of the mole being somebody that the fans are aware of but haven’t seen for a while. It centres around Abarama Gold’s belief that Johnny Dogs was the man that betrayed the Peaky Blinders. It is unlikely that Johnny Dogs would betray Tommy, but was this a teaser?

Many fans believe that the actual mole has close ties to the Lee’s. The character that many people feel is to blame is none other than Esme. John Shelby’s widow still blames Tommy for her husband’s death and certainly has the motive. It would be an interesting development and one that fans would undoubtedly love.
