It’s a date that thousands around the city would have had ear-marked in their calendars, as Birmingham plays host to one of the biggest comic-cons of the year. Visitors can come to the NEC between the 21st and 22nd March to celebrate everything that is great about comic books, video games and movies.

As well as having the opportunity to get dressed up in cosplay for the big event, there will also be a host of stars in attendance for fans to get autographs and pictures with. There will also be a stall celebrating all things comic books, and a kids village for the little visitors to have fun at.

MCM Main Stage

The main point of access throughout the weekend will be the MCM Main Stage. This will be the place to attend photo sessions and get autographs. However, this will also be the venue where there will be panels. Visitors can come in here during these sessions and get the answers to any questions that they may have surrounding the shows or comic books.

Also in here, you will find special screenings that will be of interest to everyone in attendance. This room will be the must-see spot of the weekend.

Cosplay Central

Whether you have cosplayed before, or are just interested in seeing some of the finer pieces of art, then this is the place for you. It is the only place that all cosplayers will be spending their time. While here, there will also be dedicated changing room and assistance on hand to help with any complex costumes that may need additional help.

There is also a shop here for any last-minute purchases that are needed to finish off the outfit. However, you don’t need to be dressed up to come into this section, as it is open for everybody to have a look around. However, there are competitions and prizes up for grabs for the best dressed at the event, so it may be worth spending extra time perfecting your outfit to impress the judges.

Guests

The special guests for the Birmingham Comic-Con are announced throughout the year. At present, there are four guests announced, and visitors will be looking to meet all four of them. Caitlin Glass, Ricco Fajardo, Lindsay Seidel and Aaron Dismuke have all been officially announced.

All of the mentioned guests will be in attendance throughout the weekend, with autographs, selfies and group photos available. The group photos are the most expensive as they will cost £84, while an autograph or a selfie will cost £24. Visitors will need to book these in advance to ensure they aren’t disappointed.
