Medicine are now holding Medicine Nights at the Mailbox. Medicine as you know it has changed from brunches and coffees to tapas and cocktails. Here’s a review of how we spent one of our evenings there this week
Our Experience
The service during our visit was excellent. We were allowed to pick wherever we wanted to sit, was continuously checked upon, and not left a moment without a drink in hand. The food and cocktails were prepared quickly and we did not have to wait around for anything. The service really did make us feel special as if we were the only ones in the restaurant.
Medicine At Night
Completely transformed for a daytime venue, Medicine Nights have a completely different feel. With a cosy, luxurious, and intimate atmosphere you’re going to feel like a VIP. Medicine has soft leather furnishings, dimmed lights, and a bar area that will take your breath away. The interior really does make the experience of Medicine Nights that much more immersive and gives it an inclusive feel. It’s a perfect place to catch up with friends, enjoy date nights, or book out the venue for a special birthday party.
Handcrafted Cocktails
Medicine Nights have released their spring cocktail menu filled with new, handcrafted concoctions. Curated by their expert mixologist their cocktails are tasty and visually pleasing. The menu has been carefully thought out with each one named according to the Medicine theme. If this wasn’t enough to excite you, from 6 pm until 8 pm a selection of their cocktails has a 2 for 1 offer meaning you get double for your money.
We decided to go for the Vitamin Vodka and Crushed Codeine cocktails. The Vitamin Vodka was a mix of vodka, banana, lemon air, and blue curacao. This was beautifully presented in an elegant glass. The drink was a vibrant and fun blue colour with bubbles on the top. Our Crushed Codeine had tequila, apple, and passionfruit inside, garnished with a spigot of rosemary which was burnt to add a smoky flavour and not to mention enhanced the drinking experience.
And of course, we could not leave without having a Pornstar Martini, which is included in the 2 for 1 offer. We were kindly given a cocktail demonstration by mixologist Andrea to see exactly how they make these cocktails and add some excitement to our evening.
Tapas
For food Medicine had a range of tapas and small dishes to choose from. These were perfect to nibble on throughout our visit while sipping on the cocktails. We went for the Hummus Plate, Skin on Fries with aioli, and Pork Carnitas Tacos. We found 3 dishes was a good amount of food for 2 people to snack on and share.
The Hummus Plate came beautifully presented accompanied with pomegranate seeds and green leaves with a side of crusty bread, which tasted amazing dipped in the hummus. The Skin on Fries were crispy on the outside while warm and fluffy on the inside and with the aioli dip they paired beautifully. Finally, the tacos, these were made with pork, pink onion, salsa verde, and pico de gallo all on top of a mini tortilla. There were 2 tacos making it a good dish to share and not too filling so you can still pick at and enjoy your other dishes.
