What To Do For Father’s Day In Birmingham

Father’s Day is fast approaching, and it is time to start planning. Here are some of the greatest things you could treat your dad to this year here in Birmingham.

Hockley Social Club Comedy

Hockley Social Club are holding regular closeup comedy nights perfect to take dad so he learn some new dad jokes. The show will feature some of the best award-winning comedians bound to make you tear up with laughter. Some of their previous performances have been from Darren Harriott and Lost Voice Guy who was featured on Britan’s Got Talent. Alongside the live comedy there is also food stalls and a bar serving wine, beer, and cocktails.

There are multiple dates available but for Father’s Day the 29th June would be a great date. This show will host Josh Jones, Paul McCaffrey, and Kate Lucas. Tickets start at £8 and will be held from 5 pm to 11 pm in the Jewellery Quarter.

Team Sport Go Karting

If your dads a little bit more of a daredevil, then he may enjoy a bit of indoor Go Karting. Team Sport Go Karting offer great competitive fun where you can race around their tracks and fight for the spot on the top of the leaderboard.  

Their tracks have been designed by the greatest professionals and contain ramps, sharp turns, multiple levels, and are up to 1000 meters long. Carefully crafted their go carts are state of the art and can reach super quick speeds of up to 40 mph. These four wheeled carts are perfect for adrenaline junkies fighting for that number one spot and quickest lap. After your hard work racing you may need to refuel, with their refreshments section you can grab pizzas, paninis, and other great pit stop snacks.  

These go karting sessions are for everyone whether you’re a beginner or not you’ll soon get to grips with the cart and be miles ahead of your competition. There’s lots of time slots available to book on their website and price will depend on which session you chose. We would recommend going for the Adult Ultimate Race Experience which involves a safety briefing, a guide to use the equipment, and 2 sessions of 15 minutes driving on the track. The Park VR

Opening June 15th, The Park is a new VR experience opening just in time for Father’s Day. Located in Brindley Place the Park is in the centre of Birmingham amoungst all the action. The VR has been specially curated to feel fully immersed in the experience and feel the true danger and excitement of the adventures you will undertake. There’s lots of different journeys to choose from such as Don’t Scream, Mask Of The Pharaoh, and Mission Planet X. This Park is going to blow your mind with their surreal life like games designed to transport you out this world.  

This place will let your imagination wonder while your mind is captured in their hyper real games. During your visit there is a bar area and snacks available to fill up on so you can continue your adventure. The VR will involves playing 30 minutes of mini games so you can get to grips with the technology and to explore the games they have to offer. Then you will be able to play together with whoever you bought along, either battling against one another or teaming up to secure a victory.

Flight Club

Another great activity that’ll be fun for dad and the rest of the family is darts. Flight Club has reinvited your typical game of darts into something fun, competitive, and interactive. Unlike your standard dart board Flight Club have transformed them to be interactive be able to play lots of exciting games. Flight Club accommodate for people of all skill levels, so no need to worry if you haven’t brushed up on that throwing technique. Some of their games include Snakes & Ladders, Demolition, and Killer, these are all easy to pick up with the rules being explained at the start.  

The games allow you to play against the family and friends you bought along, and their games are for sure to bring out that competitive side. The amazing tech behind the dart boards also allow you to capture photos and videos while you play, allowing great moments to be remembered. 

The bar also provides food and drink while you play with their cocktails and sharing pizzas being a must try when you visit. The game costs £10 per person for 60 minutes of gameplay.

For a more chilled out activity the cinema could be perfect. Simply sit back and enjoy whichever new and exciting film you have picked. There’s lots of new movies released which could be perfect to entertain dad on Father’s Day. Located right on Broad Street in Cineworld great to catch up on the latest entertainment. With new films from Fast X, Guardians Of The Galaxy, and Transformers you’ll be spoilt for choice. Via their website you can pick available dates and book your visit to secure a seat. Cannon Hill Park

Something you may have not considered is a relaxing, peaceful day out at the park. One located in Birmingham and great to spend the day is Cannon Hill Park. Entry to the park is completely free and everyone is welcome even the dog, so no one misses out on the Father’s Day celebrations.

The Park has some lovely walks where you can take in the great scenery and enjoy the nice sunny weather. Why not bring a picnic and a ball for something else fun to do and really make the most of the day. There are other activities the park offers such as their swan pedalo’s and crazy golf for a small cost.
