The Be Inclusive Hospitality Awards celebrates a number of businesses and individuals from Black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds that work within the hospitality industry. This year’s ceremony was held in London and sold out completely with lots of people coming together to recognise and award some of the best talent in the hospitality industry. The awards ceremony was presented by chef and restaurateur Shelina Permalloo who has accomplished many things such as being a cookery author and winning BBC’s MasterChef in 2012.
There were lots of outstanding and high quality submissions for the Hospitality Awards with lots of people and businesses entering to win some of the fantastic awards on offer. There was a total of 15 award categories to win from and some of these included Chef of the Year, Bar or Pub of the Year, and Best in Caribbean Food.
Sat on the judging panel was some very well known, talented, and influential individuals from the hospitality industry such as Mike Reid a skilled Culinary Director and Adele C.Oxberry the Chief Executive of Umbrella Training.
One of this year’s winners was Wolverhampton based company Crazy Gin. Crazy Gin won Brand of the Year this award is given to companies that effectively communicate its values and stands out from their competitors. This brand will have a good reputation and will work hard to satisfy their consumers which is definitely something Crazy Gin does.
Crazy Gin was founded in 2016 by Bruce Nagra and his wife Paramjit. Their mission was to create a drink that combined their personal Indian heritage and their British upbringings. From this Crazy Gin was born and is said to be the world’s first clear lassi-flavoured version of the spirit.
This award is an amazing achievement for the brand and we’re sure it’s the first of many!
