Six By Nico is a restaurant that serve up a 6 course tasting menu that is based around different themes or concepts which change every 6 weeks. The restaurant was founded by chef Nico Simeone in 2017 and in the last 6 years has opened up 13 restaurants all over the UK with the latest being right here in Birmingham. Nico has worked hard over the past years to develop and perfect his tasting experiences and is excited for the new launch to come to Birmingham this year.
The new Birmingham restaurant will be opening up on Colmore Row on November 30th 2023. The restaurant’s first tasting menu will be inspired by the true classic “chippie tea” known and loved by many. The tasting menu will draw inspiration from the classic British chippie dish and elevate this to become something new and exciting.
This dining experience costs £39 for the 6 courses and for £30 per person you can receive a specially paired glass of wine from courses 2-6. Some of the food options available are their Steak Pie which is a beef shin with burnt onion ketchup, the Fish Supper, and they are even offering the Deep Fried Mars Bar, which we are very excited to try!
If you’re veggie or vegan the restaurant does their utmost to provide some excellent options for you too. Some of the veggie dishes include Root Vegetable Pie, Cauliflower Beignet, and Halloumi.
Chef Nico had the concept for “The Chippie” in 2017 as this was the first menu in their first restaurant venue in Glasgow. Nico claims this is has been one of his favorite menus to develop and create as it reminds him of his childhood and holds great sentimental value to him. He has spent years improving this menu to make it nostalgic and playful and something guests will truly love. Nico says, “I’m excited for our new Birmingham guests to feel that nostalgia with every bite” and we are extremely excited to give it a go too!
