Celebrate Veganuary With B:EATS

0

Veganuary is an annual challenge where individuals become vegan for the whole month of January while being educated about the benefits of adopting this lifestyle. To celebrate the Veganuary month B:EATS will be releasing a plant-based version of their much loved Brummie Bacon Cake. B:EATS is the cafe that was created by BMusic the charity that is linked to the Symphony and Town Hall.

The delicious Bacon Cake has recently gained further popularity with its feature on the Hairy Biker’s Christmas Special and we think the vegan version will be just as popular. The vegan cake is called the Fake-Un Cake which is a play on word combining fake and bacon to represent the fact the cake is completely vegan. This delicious treat will cost £6 and is served with vegan salted butter for the perfect combination of yummy flavours.

Some of the other vegan dishes served at B:EATS are Vegan Quinoa Chili, the Roasted Cauliflower with Chickpeas, and their Vegan Philly Cheese which is plant-based steak slices, peppers, onions, vegan cheese, vegan mayo, lettuce, all served in a vegan brioche roll served with fries. Head chef Lee Hollington said he does not want vegans to miss out on the Bacon Cake delicacy so making a vegan version was essential and thinks it adds “something special” to their vegan menu.

The Fake-Un Cake will be served all throughout the month of January and is a great treat to enjoy whether you’re participating in Veganuary or not. The Symphony Hall cafe is open from Monday to Saturday from 11 am to 4 pm and is a great spot for late lunches or early dinners.
