Hola! Have you heard about the new menu coming to Six By Nico? No? Well, you’re in the right place to find out all about it!
Six By Nico Birmingham have just announced their Mexico inspired menu. This will be the fifth six-course tasting menu launched in the Birmingham location and is just the second release within their “Summer Series”. This menu will only be available for 6 weeks from the 20th May to June 30th 2024.
The menu has been inspired by Mexico’s colourful culture from the depths of the Tijuana deserts to the bold and busy streets of Mexico City. The menu aims to combine both modern Mexican street food mixed with ancient culinary elements to take guests on a true food adventure. The foods are rich in both colour and flavour and will transport diners through the country with every bite.
To make this menu the best it can be Chef Nico Simeone and his team took a trip to the country. They got to explore the local suburbs and gain inspiration for what this menu could include to bring the best of Mexico to Birmingham. The 4 day trip was hosted by a local tour guide who showed the team the best places to visit that may have not been uncovered to the typical novice traveller. The team learnt lots of new cooking techniques which they were quick to take on board and incorporate into this wonderful tasting menu.
The full 6 course menu it costs £42 per guests with a wine paring menu available at an additional £33. Some of the dishes on this menu include their Elote which is a Sweetcorn Fritter with Queso Fresco and Salsa Verde, Next there is their Caldo de Pescado which is Sea Bass, White Bean, and Chorizo Spiced Hot Broth, and for dessert there is the Pastel Roldan Tres Leches which is a Pecan Cake with Horchata, Vanilla Tres Leches Sorbet and Citrus. As always there is a vegetarian menu available where any meats are removed or swapped out for veggies friendly option that is guaranteed to still give that vibrant Mexican taste.
Founder and chef Nico Simeone expressed how much he loved exploring Mexico learning new techniques and says he “can’t wait to bring a piece of the Mexican sunshine to the city of Birmingham!”
