If you are anything like us, then you will love a little bit of retail therapy and what better place to treat yourself than in one of Birmingham’s many shopping malls. You may think the only place for shopping is the Bullring but that’s not entirely true there’s also a range of other shopping centres to splash out in. This guide will show you the best shopping malls in Birmingham perfect to get yourself or someone close to you a lovely gift.

Bullring

Arguably the most well known shopping centre in Birmingham is the Bullring. Filled with Household shops, restaurants, and your classic high street fashion stores it’s the best place to pick up whatever you need or want. The shopping centre is perfect to grab a gift for someone special, get hold of all your necessities, and buy whatever the heart desires.

From high end to fast fashion the Bullring is home to all sorts of shops. Some of our favourite stores include Scribbler, H&M, Selfridges, and Hotel Chocolate. Another one of our recent favourites is Design 44, this is a small pop up shop showcasing lots of independent businesses selling handmade gifts.

After all that shopping you may need to take a little pitstop and refuel ready for your next adventure. The centre is great to grab a bite to eat there’s Bills, Vietnamese Street Kitchen, and Wagamama ideal lunch and dinner in between shopping.

Getting into Bullring could not be easier, the centre is attached to Grand Central so if you’ve arrived by train its just a small stroll until you can hit those shops.

Grand Central is filled with food spots, clothing stores, and of course New Street train station where thousands of people commute all day long. This is a great place to kick off your shopping trip as there are some great little stores located around the centre for whatever you need. Its also convenient if you need to pick up a bite to eat between travelling Grand Central has an array of restaurants, cafes, and places to grab those quick refreshments.

Some of the food places located in Grand Central are Joe & The Juice, Pho, and the Bagel Factory. So whether you need a quick on the go lunch or have a little more time for a sit down relaxed lunch Grand Central is the place for those refreshments.

New Street is also located right below Grand Central so getting to this location could not be easier and is very convenient if you are waiting around for a train, you can occupy yourself with all the shops and food places.

The Mailbox

Just a few minutes walk from Grand Central but still located in the city centre, The Mailbox is another great shopping mall in your favourite city. The centre has your usual clothing stores, bars, and restaurants but is also home to a prestigious art museum. The Mailbox is a great place to visit on your day out as even if you’re not there to splurge out you can still make this a fun and exciting trip.

Some of the things located at the shopping mall are the BBC Studios, Medicine, and the luxury department store Harvey Nichols. There is also Castle Fine Art which is an art gallery which you can take a look round at all the art and sculptures they have to offer, and maybe pick one up.

Resorts World is a little more than just your typical shopping centre. Its home to lots of activities as well as your usual clothing stores and restaurants. Being not too far from Birmingham city centre its easy to get to and from if you’re travelling so no need to cut this day out short with commuting.

You will find more than just shops at this centre and it is such a good spot for a day out. Its home to a cinema, bowling alley, and an escape room which are some perfect activities for a fun packed family day out.

If you do want some retail therapy, then Resorts World can provide you with some great fashion spots. You can take a look round Nike, Kurt Geiger, and the Next Outlet even if it’s just for a little window shopping these stores are worth a visit during your trip.

Something a little different from those big shopping malls, Great Western Arcade has lots of small independent stores just waiting to be discovered.
