You can hop on one of these old school trains right here in Birmingham and uncover the history of William Shakespeare while taking in the scenic views along the way.
The Journey
The journey will begin at either Snow Hill or Moor Street station in Birmingham and will take place every Sunday until 3rd September. Prices start at £39.95 for kids and £59.95 for adult tickets which includes the afternoon tea and the whole journey.
To get to Stratford-upon-Avon you will hop aboard a vintage steam train and travel in one of their beautiful old fashioned carriers. The journey will let you step back in time in a once in a lifetime experience where you can travel in style and see all the stunning countryside’s that surround Birmingham.
The 60 mile trip will let you see all the scenic sites around the city that will mesmerize your gaze and take your breath away. This picturesque journey will make for a great selfie backdrop or even just a lovely landscape photo that will help you remember your wonderful day out by.
Afternoon Tea
While you embark on your journey to Stratford-upon-Avon you will be able to indulge in a classic afternoon tea where you will get to nibble on small sandwiches and cakes while sipping on either a glass of bubbles or something soft. The timeless tea will make for the perfect refreshment while you travel along the tracks and take in the views.
The Destination
The fun does not just stop at the travelling as when you reach Stratford-upon-Avon you will get 60 minutes to explore the town. During this time, you can take in all the pretty sights of the destination and capture a couple of photos of your time at Stratford.
As this is the Shakespeare Express and you are travelling to Stratford it would be rude not to visit the birthplace of William Shakespeare himself. Shakespeare spent his childhood years in this town specifically on Henley Street in a 16th century restored house that you can take a peek at during your hour stop off.
The whole trip will last around 3 hours from leaving the station to arriving back in the evening. Every moment will either involve good food or breathtaking views what more could you ask for on an evening out.
