The second city always has a lot of different activities ongoing over the weekend, and this weekend is no different. But, what can you get up to over the coming weekend should you be in, or around Birmingham between the 6th and 8th March?

Big Fish Little Fish X Camp Bestival Family Rave Tour

The Big Fish Little Fish X Camp Bestival Family Rave is one of the best family activities to do in the United Kingdom, and that has been highlighted by it winning the Best Family Event awarded between 2013 and 2019 at the Fantastic for Families Awards. The event takes place at Nightingales and is perfect for ravers of all ages. There will be club classics played throughout the event, while there is a DJ set from Aston Harvey. The bar is also open, so adults can drink responsibly while their youngsters are having the time of their lives in the Camp Bestival craft area, complete with a gratuitous amount of bubbles and balloons.

Soul Sisters

The Night Owl will be celebrating international women’s day and women’s history month on Saturday 7th March, as they have Cate And Co on the main stage singing classic female soul hits. The action kicks off from 8 pm, and tickets should be purchased in advance to avoid disappointment. Later in the evening, DJ Mazzy Snape & Friends will be involved, as they play a host of Mod, ska and soul classics to keep up dancing until the early hours of the morning.

Crufts

The world’s greatest dog show once again takes place at the NEC this weekend, with events taking place throughout the weekend. Crufts is organised by the Kennel Club and celebrates everything there is to love about our canine best friends. There is expected to be over 22,000 dogs in attendance for the Crufts Best in Show competition. There is even a chance to get hands-on at the Discover Dogs area, where over 200 breeds of dogs will be in attendance. Tickets should be booked online, with the extravaganza starting on the 5th at 8:15 am.

Kings Heath Beer Festival

This weekend sees the welcome return of the Kings Heath Beer Festival at the Kings Heath Cricket & Sports Club. Doors open at 5 pm on Friday, and noon on Saturday. Entry is £6, and the live Six Nations action will also be on the big screens throughout the day. There will be over 25 craft beers to test out and 15 ciders. Live entertainment will also be taking place throughout the festival.

Paul Sinha

Everybody’s favourite Chaser will be in Sutton Coldfield this weekend, and he will leave you belly-laughing throughout the show. He will be at the Sutton Coldfield Town Hall on Friday evening, with tickets still available online. Sinha has already achieved a lot throughout his comedy career, as he was nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award at the 2006 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Since then, he has been commonly seen on ITV’s The Chase, which means if you are an avid viewer of the show, you should get yourself down to Sutton Coldfield this weekend.
