Introducing Birmingham’s Retro Arcade Heaven – NQ64

There are a growing number of niche bars opening up around Birmingham, but potentially none come close to fans of retro arcade and console games than NQ64. This unbelievable bar can be found at The Custard Factory in Digbeth, and is open between 4 pm and 2 am Monday to Thursday, and until 3 am between Friday and Sunday. But, what games can visitors expect to play when they pay this growing hotspot a visit?

Games Available at NQ64

There really is something for every visitor at this up-and-coming bar in Birmingham, with console titles and classic games available. It is a perfect night out with friends, as you can relive your childhood throughout the evening. The Birmingham location is one of five in the United Kingdom, with other locations found in Manchester, Edinburgh and Liverpool.

Some of the consoles that visitors can expect to find include the Nintendo Gamecube, Nintendo 64 and PlayStation 1. On the latter, you can spend hours playing Crash Bandicoot, while Mario Kart and Mario Party can be played on the two Nintendo consoles. Also available in this unique bar is the Sega Mega Drive, where players can play titles such as Sonic.

However, there are also driver games that can be found including Crazy Taxi and Out Run 2 SP. Meanwhile, fighting titles such as Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter II and Tekken can also be found. Other titles that are unmissable here include Terminator 2, Star Wars Trilogy Arcade and Time Crisis.

Wash It Down With A Stacked Drinks Menu

While it’s the wide selection of gaming options that is the main reason to pay a visit to NQ64, that doesn’t mean that there isn’t something for everyone’s taste when it comes to the drinks menu available. There are some excellent drinks options that can’t be found anywhere else in the city, including the Donkey Kong and Pac’s A Punch.

The Donkey Kong is made up of pineapple run, banana, chocolate and cream soda, while the Pac’s A Punch consists of strawberry-infused gin, peach, apple, lemon and soda. Meanwhile, those looking for draught options will also be delighted with the options, with Camden Hill, Orchard Thief and Beavertown Gamma Ray all available.

Visitors can have one of the best nights out in the city at NQ64, as they relive their childhood in one of the hippest bars in Birmingham.
