5 Amazing Food Challenges in Birmingham to Get Your Teeth Into

0

Have you ever watched an episode of Man vs. Food and thought to yourself: “I could do that”? Well then, it’s time to put your money where your mouth is. Literally. Here’s a list of food challenges that can be found in restaurants around Birmingham, so you can prove that your eyes aren’t bigger than your stomach.

Flaming Challenges: Village Green (Greene King Pubs)

A number of food challenges are up for grabs at the Village Green pub in Stockland Green, and you had better be a fan of meat! The Big Mexican and Who Dares Wings challenges are not for the faint-hearted, with the addition of Tabasco Scorpion Sauce on their 4 beef burgers and 25 wings, respectively.

For those with a milder palette (and a hungrier stomach), they also have The Triple Threat and the Steak Fondue Challenge, both steak-filled plates, the latter served with a whole Camembert to dip into. Finally, if you prefer the white meat, The Macxcalibur is the challenge for you. Three chicken schnitzels are served with bacon mac and cheese, chips, and corn of the cob. Why not take a shot at getting on their wall of fame?

The Challenge Burger: Big Man’s Food

This halal-friendly restaurant is known for having some wonderfully large and dirty meals, so if they consider this burger a challenge, you know it must be a doozy.

Stacked so high that it needs a skewer to stay upright and can’t even be held in your hands let alone fit in your mouth, it is packed with beef patties, chicken breasts, sausages, and so much more. Beat the time limit and you’ll get the burger free! Oh, and don’t forget the sides of fries, nachos, and onion rings.

Wing Challenge: The Bristol Pear

Ever popular with the local university students, The Bristol Pear has a Wing Wednesday deal every week, during which you can get chicken or cauliflower wings for only 30p each. Of course, with such a good deal, it is very tempting to eat as many as possible. And you absolutely should!

See if you can top their leaderboard and prove that it isn’t just students who can wolf down that much food! And if you are a student, bring your mates and see who among you can be named the ultimate eater.

The @pizza Challenge: @pizza

It is a truth universally acknowledged that pizza is one of the greatest foods there is, and we have all had a late-night binge of the largest one we can fine. But could you manage 5? In under 30 minutes? Well, it’s time to find out.

@pizza in Grand Central is offering a black card and a free dessert pizza (which you can take-away if you’re full, don’t worry) to anyone who can top their leaderboard. But don’t think that this challenge is a walk in the park just because its pizza; only 3 people have beat the clock so far!

Hop 666 Challenge: Cock ‘N’ Bull

When you first hear about the Cock ‘N’ Bull’s food challenge, you might think “6 wings in 6 minutes? Sounds easy, anyone could do that.” But then comes the final 6 – 6 minutes of burn time.

These aren’t just wings, these are the hottest wings they do, and you better not underestimate their House of Pain hot sauce. But hey, if you survive the challenge, not only do you make it onto their Wall of Flame, but you also get a t-shirt! Sounds like a pretty good deal.
