With the return of The Crown this week, who doesn’t love a glimpse inside the lives of the Royal family. The fifth season of the much-loved Netflix series, which features Imelda Staunton, Dominic West and Elizabeth Debicki in the cast switch-up, will follow the Firm throughout the 90s. But when it comes to their real lives, it appears Brummies are keen to get to know the current royals whilst on a trip to the pub.
New research from WeLoveBrum.co.uk reveals the top royal family members Birmingham locals would most like to join them for a pint at their local, with former ‘party boy’ Prince Harry topping the poll.
Whether it’s a quick weekday pint or a Saturday drinking session, the Duke of Sussex (25%) beat the likes of Kate Middleton (24%) and Prince William (20%) – the Prince and Princess of Wales – who placed in second and third respectively. King Charles (12%) and Princess Anne (11%) also made the top five, while Zara Tindall and Meghan Markle (9%) were joint sixth place.
Brummies also had their say on Princess Eugenie (6%) and Princess Beatrice (5%) as they took the seventh and eighth spot on the leaderboard. Of the adults surveyed, the Royal people would least like to drink with was Prince Edward, who only managed to rack up 4% of the total vote.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry was a clear favourite across the majority of the UK, nabbing the top spot once again in London (24%), Manchester (27%), Nottingham (31%), Liverpool (20%), Belfast (32%), Brighton (22%) and Glasgow (28%). However, Bristol (31%), Cardiff (24%) and Norwich (27%) would rather opt for a civilized drink with Kate Middleton, who placed first across those cities.
