It is home to many fun activities, restaurants, and bars this quirky estate is the place to go for an evening out. This article will guide you on how to spend a day out at the wonderful Digbeth Estate packed with fun things to do and delicious places to eat.

Roxy Lanes

The first place you must visit is Roxy Lanes. By mixing booze and ball games Roxy is a fun, amusing, and entertaining place to be. Offering tons of enjoyable games from bowls, ping pong, pool, beer pong, and even shuffleboard Roxy is a great place to spend the evening. Roxy is perfect for dates, friend get togethers, colleagues’ day out, and for fun with the family.

We went for a game of shuffleboard. The game involves sliding pucks to the end of the board the further along the board the puck travels the more points you can score however, if the puck falls of the end of the table, you will score no points. The first person to score fifteen points will win the game and take home the victory.

Bookings can be made online via the Roxy Leisure website. When booking you will get to choose the date, time, and duration of when you would like to play. Slots can last either 60, 90, or 120 minutes per game. Game prices start at just £9 and are dependent on whether you chose an off or on peak slot and the duration of the game.

While playing it’s a must that you try one of Roxy’s cocktails. With 20 different concoctions to choose from you’ll be spoilt for choice. We decided to go for Roxy’s Signature Living On A Pear which contained all sorts of fruit such as pear, lemon, pineapple, and raspberry and the Tropic Thunder cocktail which was created by the bar staff at Roxy themselves it contained passionfruit, pineapple, and lime.

Staff at the bar were extremely friendly and welcoming from start to finish. We were greeted with a smile and taken to our shuffleboard game and shown how to play. Throughout the game we were checked up on and offered drinks. At the end we were even offered a little extra playing time as we were booked in during a quiet period.

We went for the G.O.A.T Experience this entails 1 game of their crazy golf and any drink of your choice. This game costs £20 per person and for sure allows you to get the full golfing experience. Some of their other packaged include The Golf Experience, Double Parked, and The Sugar Daddy which includes golf, drinks, and food all for £29. Baked In Brick

Next on the must visit list is Baked In Brick. Offering some of the best pizzas, baked goods, and cocktails it makes for a great pitstop amongst all the fun activities Digbeth has to offer. Whether its lunch or dinner this award winning restaurant will bring some of the best food you have ever tasted.

As we had a dinner time reservation, we had a great choice of pizzas, loaded fries, and small plates. After seeing Baked In Bricks pizzas, we knew we had to order one. We went for the classic Margherita and a Salsiccia Toscana which had sausage, bell peppers, parmesan, mozzarella, and tomatoes on top.

The pizzas were wood fired and were some of the best we have ever tasted they were cooked to perfection, and we even got to take some home which tasted just as good warmed up. We also could not resist a side of Cheesy Garlic Bread which tasted just as good as it sounds. There were lots of veggie options available and allergens were all clearly stated on the menu which was very helpful and informative when ordering.

For drinks we went for the Mango and Passion Fruit Cooler, this was super refreshing and filled with fruity flavours. And we had to go for the Pineaperol, this was the special of the day which was a pineapple flavoured Aperol Spritz, it was just delicious.

The staff at the restaurant were extremely friendly and made us feel right at home. They made sure we had everything we needed all throughout our visit and that we were happy. Our food was bought out quickly and there was no waiting around for anything we had ordered.

The Floodgate is an upbeat and cheery place filled with lots of activities you won’t find anywhere else in Birmingham. Just some of the fun stuff they have include baseball, Pit Pat table golf, curling, and now their latest addition the raceway. The fun just keeps coming at this social and exciting playground with lots of twists and turns throughout your evening. Floodgate accommodate for all sorts of occasions from large groups to just a couple of friends on a night out, whatever the event this venue will definitely bring the fun.

We took part in the Curling activity which has a fun twist on your ordinary classic game. The aim of the game is to through your coloured stone onto the alley with the aim to get is as close to the centre target as possible and whoever gets the closest wins the points. They have 6 curling lanes, 3 indoors and 3 outdoors which are great for the upcoming warmer months. We played on the inside lanes which were colourfully decorated with playful slinkies making this uniques expercine so much more fun.

Curling can be booked online via their website. Slots are available from 30 minutes up to 1 hour which is convenient for larger groups. Tickets cost £15 off peak and from £25 on peak per lane.

When visiting you can’t resist to grab one of their mouthwatering cocktails concoctions which are cleverly named after some of the activities they have to offer. We had to go for their classic Strike Out which has a great fruity punch to it and then we had the Pitter Patter which had a bracing lemon taste.

NQ64

Finally, the last activity that should be on your to do list is NQ64. This venue is jam packed with retro games that will throw you back to your childhood. From your classic games to old-school pinball machines and even fighting console games the arcade is filled with fun entertainment that will amuse you all night long.

Some of the games at NQ64 include X-BOX, Playstation, Pac Man, Nintendo, and Mariocart all of which are great plays. The machines at the arcade work via tokens which can be purchased at the bar and then placed in the machines to play. If you run out of tokens at any time more can be bought to extend your playing time.

While you play you should definitely grab yourself one of their arcade themed cocktails. With some iconic names these drinks not only taste good but look amazing. Some that we would recommend include the Power Start Martini and their Mad Max which has lots of tropical surprises inside.

NQ64 do not take booking so you can simply show up grab some tokens and play away. The venue is open every day of the week until early hours of the morning for all those late game playing evenings.
