Orelle Birmingham Sunday Lunch Review

0

Orelle is a modern French restaurant located on the 24th giving you breath-taking views of the whole of Birmingham while you indulge in their luxurious food. Located right in the heart of Birmingham this restaurant is open for lunch and dinner every day of the week until late. They serve classic and modern French dishes which includes their Sunday Lunch which is a brilliant twist on the typical lunch we all know and love.

Our Experience

On arrival we were shown straight to the lift that would take us up to the 24th floor where the restaurant is located. They took our jackets into their cloak room, and we were taken over to our table. When being seated they pulled out our chairs and passed us the drinks and food menu to look over. The staff were very friendly and accommodating for anything we needed while being at the restaurant. They topped up our drinks whenever they ran low and the service throughout was perfection.

The entire experience Orelle created was exceptional from start to finish and made us feel incredibly special. We were sincerely looked after at every moment of our trip and could not have wished for anymore.

Wine List

Orelle’s wine list is one of the most extensive menus we have ever seen there was a glass of something for everyone. There was a wide range of white, rosé, and red wines to go for that were sold by the glass and would pair beautifully with your chosen meal. We went for the rosé Ontânon Clarette’ Bodega Ontânon and the red Valpolicella Prá Morandina. They both tasted amazing and were great to sip on while enjoying our meals.

Starter

For Sunday lunch Orelle offer an exclusive menu where you can have 2 courses for £42 or 3 for £48. There are 5 different options to start with including some vegetarian alternatives to help meet any dietary needs. We decided to go for the Tomate which is their veggie dish that has Isle Of Wight tomatoes, burrata, sourdough, strawberries, and gazpacho. The combination of flavours was divine the vegetables and fruits inside the soup worked wonderfully and the food was delicious.

The starter left our mouths watering, and we could not wait to see what would be served for our next course.

Sunday Lunch

Just like the starters there is also 5 meals to choose from for your main course. On the menu there is only one veggie and vegan option however the restaurant goes above and beyond to accommodate for any dietary requirements you may have, and they can offer other dishes that are off the menu that could be more suited to you.

That being said we went for the Vegetarian Roast and their Surlonge rôtie. Their Vegetarian Roast originally is not on their menu, but they can rustle it up if you are after a veggie meal. The roast came with Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, buttered cabbage, cauliflower cheese, confit carrots, broccoli, and mushrooms. With all the trimmings the roast was filling and very flavoursome not to mention the presentation was beautiful and made the meal really inviting.

The Surlonge rôtie which is a 35 day aged Cumbrian sirloin which comes with a Yorkshire pudding. Plus, like all the Sunday roasts the dish is served with cabbage, cauliflower cheese, carrots, broccoli, and roast potatoes. The dinner was perfection it

Dessert

Like most we could not resist trying one of their delicious sounding desserts. There was a separate menu for their sweet treats with 6 different choices that will get those taste buds tingling. We decided to go for their Fraisier des bois and the savoury option of the Fromage.

The Fraisier des bois came with a strawberry mousse, basil, meringue, and yoghurt sorbet. The presentation was phenomenal, and it tasted as good as it looked to say the least. The Fromage was the restaurants take on cheese and biscuits and was some of the best we have ever had. The dessert came with a wide selection of British and French cheeses, preserves, and some oat biscuits to pair it all together with.

Even though the restaurant is right in the centre of town it is so peaceful and really transports you out of the city and into a tranquil bubble. The luxurious experience is truly unmatched and will make you feel like royalty for the evening. The food, service, and overall outing was faultless we would not change a single thing.  We highly recommend tasking a visit here especially for a Sunday Lunch like no other.
