Birmingham Based Restaurant 670 Grams Is Going In A New Direction

0

670 Grams has been known for their tasting menu format but with a slight change in direction the restaurant will now serve up a new small plate’s menu. The Birmingham based restaurant has now announced their new plans to launch their informal sharing menu at the start of January next year. The new menu has a wonderful range of small plate’s and side options that are inclusive for vegetarians too.

Some of the small plates that will be on offer are Wagu Rib with KT Pickle and BBQ, Cured Monkfish with Date and Tomato Warer, and Crab with Fermented Crispy Chilli and Garlic Butter. And veggies are not left out with one of the dishes being the BBQ Courgette, Harissa and Ash which sounds divine. To accompany those small plates there is also a range of side options some of these include their Beef Fat Potatoes with Smoked Vinegar and the Amelia Dressed Tomato with Wasabi and EVOO. And what meal would be complete without dessert, 670 have some wonderful options including Fig Cake and Miso Caramel Tart.

Kray Treadwell opened 670 Grams in the midst of Covid-19 and named the restaurant after the weight of his daughter when she was prematurely born. When opening the Restautant the aim was to offer fine dining at accessible prices so everyone can have a taste of luxury.

After 12 years of cooking tasting menus the chef found he had lost the joy in his work and wanted to introduce something new. The shift started with the Sunday Roast menu when he found “the restaurant came to life.” From this change he decided he wanted to introduce a more informal menu on a permanent basis, which is where the small plates come from. This newly developed menu allows the 670 team to work closely with small farmers and growers, which is a great way to reduce their impact on the environment.

We for sure can’t wait for 2024 to try this new menu!
