Five Unique Places To Stay In The Cotswolds

0

What draws travellers to the Cotswolds is its undeniably picturesque scenery. Rolling hills, sprawling meadows, and postcard-perfect countryside (and a few curious cows, if you happen to wander into the wrong field as I did one summer). The Cotswolds is famous for its stone cottages, and awe-inspiring views, while also boasting some of the UK’s best-kept gardens, a feature that adds a touch of whimsy to the landscape.

With so many incredible places to visit in the Cotswolds, narrowing down a good spot to rest your head after a long day exploring what’s on offer may be hard. That’s where We Love Brum comes in, we have put together a lovely little list of the most eloquent and unique spots in this must-visit part of the country.

Well Furlong Cottage – Little Comberton, Worcestershire WR10 3EP

If you want something more up-market and luxurious Well Furlong Cottage ticks all the necessary boxes and then some. I first spotted this incredible homestead on coolplaces.co.uk while looking for options for a weekend getaway for myself and a group of close friends. The property is akin to having access to your own persoanl day spa, with a pool, steam room and a jacuzzi all on-site.

The space has three bedrooms all with ensuite bathrooms, a kitchen which has all the equipment you could dream of, and another major plus point, the property is also dog friendly. The owners will also provide guests with bikes to explore the region with, and also baby equipment if needed all on request.

Nearby places to wander for avid ramblers include the Malvern Hills, Brendon Hills and some lovely little routes along the river Avon. Perfect for a ramble or a cycle.

Kin Rooms – 5 Old St, Ludlow, Shropshire SY8 1NW

Ludlow is a charming market town and is a well-known destination for foodies. It has a collection of wonderful restaurants in the town centre and the architecture is beautiful. Rows of Tudor-style timber-framed buildings line the streets, which makes walking through the ton feel like you’ve been transported into a fairytale.

The Kin Rooms are a collection of four boutique apartments (all rented separately) and they have everything you need for an incredible stay. The rooms all have king-sized beds, with the two larger rooms having full kitchens, and the smaller rooms fitted with well-equipped kitchenettes. The room’s interior design is something to marvel at also, fully restored oak beams are well complimented by stylish period pieces that bring the rooms to life. The owners also have a cafe downstairs called Kin Kitchen which is a bonus!

Tiny Wooden House – Grange Cottages, Snowford Hill, Long Itchington, Southam, Warwickshire CV47 9QE

For a more rural experience, these sets of wooden cabins near the famous town of Royal Leamington Spa, are a perfect location for a weekend getaway. Tiny homes have become more popular over the last few years and for people with a more minimalist approach, these magical wooden cabins will provide you with a quaint and comfortable setting to enjoy some quality time with your loved ones.

The homes are perched at the top of a 100-acre field that provides stunning views of the countryside, and an all-weather BBQ and wood-fired hot tub are all on-site for guests.

Reid Villa – Lower Mill Estate, Mill Lane, Somerford Keynes, Gloucestershire GL7 6BG

Reid Villa’s location provides the serene tranquillity you would expect when staying at a property located on the water, the property is even accessed by a footbridge that carries you over a stream which adds a bit of magic to the setting.

This wonderful setting is well-complimented by a remarkable open-plan living space, complete with two large sofas, a wall-mounted flat-screen TV and enough space to sleep up to seven people. A nature reserve and a network of lakes are located a few miles from the property so there are lots to explore when embarking on an adventure, of course, if you can tear yourself away from this beautiful setting.

The Horse & Groom – The Street, Charlton, Malmesbury, Wiltshire SN16 9DL

The Horse & Groom is a superb inn set inside a grade II listed building. The Building dates back to the 16th century and has been revamped by new owners (West County Butcombe Brewery) who have breathed new life into this traditional country pub.

The Inn has five rooms, all well furnished, and you can choose between a signature room, which is a larger room or a snug room, which as the name suggests is a more cosy setting, The food and drink at this location make it worth a visit ben if you don’t plan to stay, and located right on the edge of the Cotswolds there is plenty of things to visit and explore.
