After extreme hard work and determination Riverine Rabbit Birmingham are now officially listed in the Michelin Guide. The restaurant began with small pop ups around the world but now have a residency in Stirchley Birmingham and have achieved this huge Michelin milestone. This article will tell you all you need to know about Riverine Rabbit and why you make your reservation now!

Run by Ash and Erin Valenzuela-Heeger, the restaurant formally opened their doors earlier this year. The restaurant aims to mix their South African roots with flavoursome and seasonal British produce. When securing produce the restaurant takes time to get to know the farmers and producers to ensure the ingredients are procured sustainably and with great respect. Ash is passionate about sourcing ingredients locally and from wider locations around the UK to ensure all their dishes are the best they can be.

The Riverine Rabbit name has a great multi-purpose meaning that is held close to the family. Firstly, the name is inspired by the Karoo Desert where the riverine rabbit lives secondly, it’s a nod to all the sustainable farming work that Ash and Erin support which consequently prevents the extinction of animals like the riverine rabbit.

After being rewarded their spot on the Michelin Guide the inspector shared a few kind words about the restaurant. They mentioned that if given the chance you should try out the restaurants honey-cured beef which “epitomises the flavour-packed cooking”. It was also mentioned that all the food comes at a “wallet-friendly” price which is always good news especially for a restaurant that is now listed on the Michelin Guide.

With all that said there is no excuse not to make your next dining reservation with Riverine Rabbit and get a taste of all their delicious and affordable dishes!
